Before we hear from World War II veterans Wayne Thompson, Bob Stonum, and Don Fries, we hear about the origins of Honor Flight from founder Earl Morse. The Honor Flight Network is active in every area where Hometown Heroes is heard, and you have a couple opportunities in the coming week to welcome home a planeload of veterans.

Honor Flight Kern County returns to the Bakersfield airport Monday, April 25th at 8:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, April 27th, you can join the crowd at Fresno Yosemite International Airport at 5:30 to welcome home 65 veterans, including the ones heard on this episode of Hometown Heroes.
