102-year-old Gene Kleindl of Rockford, IL appears on episode #871 of Hometown Heroes, airing January 4-9, 2025. A medic with the 90th Infantry Division’s 358th Regiment, Kleindl shares memories from the Normandy Campaign, the Battle of the Bulge, and more. You’ll also hear Gene talk about his friend Ralph Gaddis, who made the ultimate sacrifice in Normandy. Gene had the chance to visit Ralph’s grave in 2023.
