With the Universal Pictures film, UNBROKEN, opening in theaters Christmas Day, episode #346 of Hometown Heroes revisits a 2011 interview with a then 94-year-old Louie Zamperini. Zamperini died July 2, after 97 years of bringing incredible passion and resilience to the roles of Olympian, B-24 bombardier, prisoner of war, USC Trojan and ambassador, and missionary, among others. His story hits the big screen December 25 with the release of UNBROKEN, directed by Angelina Jolie.

Also debuting Christmas is the documentary, Louie Zamperini: Captured by Grace, released by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
