Medal of Honor recipient Leroy Petry appears on episode #786 of Hometown Heroes, airing May 20 – 25, 2023. A native of Santa Fe, NM, Petry sacrificed his right hand to save the lives of his fellow Army Rangers in Afghanistan on May 26, 2008. Petry is the current president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society‘s board of directors.
