91-year-old Bob McCoy of Fairfield, CA appears on episode #829 of Hometown Heroes, airing March 16-21, 2024. A native of Colton, SD, McCoy lied about his age and enlisted at just 15 years old, embarking on a 21-year Air Force career.

I had the pleasure of flying with Bob for several years during the 1980’s at World Airways. Always a gentleman, great pilot and truly a “character”.
Ohhh what a guy! Not sure how many times I flew around the planet with Captain McCoy during the late 80s . . It was always a pleasure and the wildest party . If you managed to get a bid line with Bob , you were guaranteed an adventure ! Cheers Captain McCoy !
I flew with Bob many times during my years with World Airways. Great guy and lots of fun to work with. Truly a gentlemen. Loved seeing him at the WOA Reunions in Oakland. It was great listening to his story.
