89-year-old David Turner of Exeter, CA appears on episode #69 of Hometown Heroes, airing April 11, 2009. Born in Louisiana, he was raised in Texas and earned his college degree in Mississippi before being drafted into the Army before America entered World War II. You’ll hear him explain how he survived a fiery B-17 landing in France, then evaded capture with the help of the French Underground.
